Lucia Roohizadegan is a Melbourne-based artist, illustrator, and author. Her paintings are a celebration of light, tranquillity, and nature, and are meditatively created using acrylic or environmentally friendly water-mixable oil paints. Finding endless inspiration from the natural beauty of Slovakia’s mountainous landscapes, her art keeps her connected to her cultural heritage and loved ones based overseas.
She has actively participated in various community art projects, including The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers, receiving numerous art and writing awards. She is a two-time major award and People’s Choice Award winner of St Vincent de Paul Society’s Just Art competition and has exhibited at the Belconnen Arts Centre in Canberra, The Stables, Glen Eira City Council Gallery, the Camberwell Art Show, Caelene Nee Glen Art Advisory and Gallery, Sequel Gallery, fortyfivedownstairs, Herring Island Gallery, and Untether Gallery.
In December 2023, her debut children’s picture book Ohromný Malý žralok, which she illustrated and co-authored with Katarina Roohizadegan, was published and distributed in major bookstores across Slovakia, Czechia, and Poland. |
