Abby Pham
Hyperrealist & Classical Realist Artist
Abby Pham is a 14-year-old Melbourne artist originally from Vietnam, specialising in hyper-realistic and classical realistic drawing, particularly wildlife, animal and portraiture. Working predominantly in pastel pencils, soft pastels, coloured pencils and graphite, Abby focuses on highly detailed observation, expression and realism.
Abby began drawing from a very young age and developed a strong interest in realism during childhood. By eight, she was studying realistic drawing independently, and by ten she had expanded into coloured pencils and soft pastels while beginning to accept commissioned artwork. She continues to develop her practice through classical realism training at Atelier Melbourne, alongside independent study and competition work.
Her art has received recognition nationally and internationally. Abby was named one of the Top 100 Child Prodigies in the World by the Global Child Prodigy Awards, and has received multiple first-place awards across Australian and international competitions. Her work has also been exhibited and published internationally, including recognition through the Never Such Innocence International Competition, with artwork selected for exhibition at Kensington Central Library in London. Her artwork Connie was selected for publication in Artists & Illustrators magazine.
